Reverend Aaron G. McCoy is the son of the late Reverend George A. McCoy and Rose McCree McCoy. A visionary leader and devoted servant of God, Rev. McCoy serves as the dynamic third pastor of Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church of Charlotte, Inc. Under his leadership, the church has experienced remarkable growth, spiritual renewal, and financial stability. His ministry is grounded in three core values: the exaltation of God, the edification of the saints, and the evangelization of the world.
Through prayer, perseverance, and the unwavering support of the congregation, Mount Vernon reached a historic milestone in 2023 when the church was completely paid off. This achievement represented more than financial freedom—it was a testament to God’s faithfulness and the fruit of unified leadership and stewardship.
A passionate advocate for education, Rev. McCoy earned a BA in Social Science from Allen University in Columbia, SC. Also, in 2023, he completed his Master of Divinity in Pastoral Care and Counseling at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC, where he has returned to pursue his Doctor of Ministry degree.
Rev. McCoy’s ministry has been marked by diverse service opportunities that foster growth and connection. He previously served as Youth Minister for both the Sandy River Baptist Association and the United Missionary Baptist Association. Currently, he serves as First Vice Moderator of the United Missionary Baptist Association, General Board Member of the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, and Executive Committee Member of the Young Preacher’s Network of the state convention.
He is also a faithful member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg NAACP, the Black Political Caucus of Charlotte, the Charlotte Minister’s Conference, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
Widely respected as an evangelist, preacher, and revivalist, Rev. McCoy is sought after for his powerful preaching and unwavering commitment to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He counts it a privilege to share God’s Word whenever called.
Pastor McCoy cherishes his twin sister, Ashley Lymisha McCoy, and is joyfully engaged to Jessica Renee Farr. Their wedding is planned for June 26, 2026, in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
He finds strength in Isaiah 40:31: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
