
REVEREND AARON G. MCCOY, is the son of the late Reverend George A. McCoy and Rose McCree McCoy. Rev. McCoy is a visionary leader and one who is a devoted servant of God. As the dynamic third pastor of Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church of Charlotte, Inc., the church has seen remarkable growth, spiritual renewal, and financial stability. Rev. McCoy’s leadership embodies his core values: the exaltation of God, the edification of the saints, and the evangelization of the world.
A passionate advocate for education, Rev. McCoy holds a BA in Political Science from Allen University in Columbia, SC. In 2023, Rev. McCoy completed an MDiv. in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC. Rev. McCoy has returned to Gardner Webb University and is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Ministry Degree.
Rev. McCoy’s ministry has been marked by diverse service opportunities, fostering growth and connection. He previously served as the Youth Minister of the Sandy River Baptist Association and the United Missionary Baptist Association. Currently, he serves as the First Vice Moderator of the United Missionary Baptist Association, General Board Member of the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and an Executive Committee Member of the Young Preacher’s Network of the state convention.
Rev. McCoy is a faithful member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg NAACP, the Black Political Caucus of Charlotte, the Charlotte Minister’s Conference, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
As a highly respected and revered evangelist, preacher, and revivalist, Rev. McCoy is widely sought for his preaching prowess and deep commitment to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is privileged by every opportunity to share the Word with God’s people. He finds solace in Isaiah 40:31, which assures, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.”
